In honor of this month being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Dr. Clifford Stanley, Undersecretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness), reminded us of the DoD’s zero tolerance policy towards domestic violence and abuse.
He also reminds Service members and family members who have been victims of domestic violence that help is available.
“We all have a responsibility to help prevent and stop domestic violence,” Dr. Stanley said. “By having the courage to seek help, before domestic violence occurs, our military Service members and families can access free, confidential help that will not show up in one’s service record and there are numerous resources available. Ensuring everyone is aware of the many resources available is an important step toward achieving this goal.”
