The
2011 Wounded Warrior Federal Employment Conference hosted by the Army Warrior Transition Command last week drew more than 120 people from nearly 30 federal agencies to learn how their agencies can benefit from the training, experience and dedication of wounded warriors entering the civilian job market.
This week, the Army Times reported that Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (
IAVA) announced their own initative to help Wounded Warriors find employment.
Among the speakers at the Army's employment conference was
Dr. Clifford Stanley, Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. Dr. Stanley told wounded warriors in attendance: "Don't give up. In fact, insist that the system do what it's supposed to do."
